In November of last year the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) explained that mobile phone providers would begin to shut down their 3G networks in 2022.

This move comes as mobile carriers attempt to improve their 5G network services.

AT&T has been communicating with its users to let them know about upcoming changes.

“For nearly two years, we’ve proactively sent numerous communications via direct mail, bill messaging, emails and text messages to help customers transition to next-generation networks before 3G services end on February 22,” an AT&T spokesperson told CNN Business.

In a separate statement, AT&T said: “We’re phasing out our 3G network in February 2022 to make room for an even better one that will improve your experience.
