Truly no time has been wasted with the Game of Thrones prequel entering the action and drama straight away. Now that audiences are familiar with the characters, the promise of battles in the same vein as Game of Thrones battles is well on the way, along with plenty more drama and intrigue in Season 2.
7 Dragon Fights
Dragonriders do not need to fight each other, considering they are all on the same side. However, after Aemond took things a step too far and killed his nephew and his dragon, everything is permitted in the war that is to come. Since Aemond holds the strongest and oldest dragon of Vhagar, there are plenty of challenges yet to arrive.
The Blacks will not take the death of Lucerys lightly, and Aemond and Vhagar must pay the toll for their crime. Since all Targaryens have a dragon, more dragon fights may be bound to happen in season 2.
6 House Stark
One of the most famed houses in Game of Thrones is that of House Stark. These characters have been through much suffering and great winters throughout the years in the series. To see them in House of the Dragon is greatly interesting, as their relationship with the Targaryens has yet to be explored in the show.

There’s already been the promise of Winterfell for season 2, and House Stark has plenty of lore that audiences would love to see. After all, they are the House and ancestors of the beloved characters of Arya, Sansa, and Jon Snow.
5 Daeron Targaryen
Oddly enough, the youngest Targaryen Prince of Viserys and Alicent has yet to be seen in the show. Daeron Targaryen is the third son and rides the dragon Tessarion. He was the most popular son of the Targaryen children, as he was clever and gentle, a far cry from the other Targaryen children, who don’t seem like the friendliest nor the best of minds.
Considering that Daeron lived in the shadows of his brothers, it’s no surprise that he has not been included yet. Hopefully, he has not been forgotten, as he hasn’t even been mentioned in the show. This wouldn’t be the first time a character was forgotten; after all, there are so many in the series.
4 Rats In The Red Keep
Throughout Season 1 of House of the Dragon, audiences have spotted plenty of rats at the Red Keep. This is a clear reference to what is to come, with the characters Blood and Cheese. These names belong to a former City Watch sergeant and a ratcatcher aware of the hidden passageways of the Red Keep.

It’s one of the most horrific entries in the series, and the details are too disturbing to even discuss. However, in summary, the two characters are hired to make the Greens pay for Luke’s death, and the targets are Aegon and Helaena’s children.
3 Civil War
Civil War is on the horizon, and the war between Greens and Blacks, the Dance of Dragons, is set to begin. All the pieces are in place for an explosive season 2, and the death of Lucerys has set everything into overdrive. The question remains whether Rheanerya will seek the Iron throne or revenge. Perhaps both.
The Greens have already tried to kill Rhaenyra and Daemon for what they knew would begin a war. Relationships will be tested, especially considering the tension between Rhaenyra and Daemon, and their shared hatred of the Hightowers insurgency, and their usurping of Viserys’ throne.
2 The Mad Queen
Targaryens have a history in the series of being a bit ‘mad.’ There has been the Mad King, and later the Mad Queen with Daenerys. However, before both, could potentially be Rhaenyra. It wouldn’t be surprising, as she has been through so much. Time can only tell what toll the trauma has on her, and how triggering it will be.
Targaryens have a history to lose their minds to rage and violence at times. Rhaenyra has been through so much already, and she hasn’t even sat on the iron throne yet. Perhaps Rhaenyra’s conquest will result in a far crueler Queen, especially with the death of her son.
1 Daemon vs. Aemond
A conflict between Aemond and Daemon has been teased in season one when the characters stood each other down. Now that Aemond has killed Daemon’s step-son, and acts as an enemy to Rhaenyra’s rightful reign, Daemon will take matters into his own hands, and take a battle to the skies against Aemond in the Battle Above the Gods Eye.
Only one man can be the victor, and perhaps one dragon too. It’s a battle that is deserving of audiences’ attention and could very well be the best battle of the entire series. It all depends on when that battle comes, whether it is Season 2 or later, but it’s certainly coming, as it’s a key aspect of the entire civil war.
